sites
It is found in the Erongo Region at Arandis in Namibia, country from which the finest stones in gem quality, of a blue color, come from.
But also in Madagascar, in larger crystals, but less colored, in Tajikistan, also in larger crystals but not transparent and brown or yellow, and in historical deposits: in Germany (Eifel Mountains in the Palatinate), and Russia in eastern Siberia.
use in jewelry
Very rare because its crystal gems are always very small, it is cut in facets, also baguette, from its elongated blue crystals coming from Namibia. This is a collection stone but its hardness and strength, make it usable in jewelry if big gem crystals were discovered.
