Detailed sheet
enstatite
Being difficult to melt, it was awarded the name of Greek word meaning “resistant” without really understanding why.
The more it contains iron, more the color becomes dark and black. The more its iron content increases, more its density increases. The enstatite forms an isomorphous series with ferrosilite, enstatite being the magnesian pole and ferrosilite the ferrous pole.
We know a gray-green variety presenting this speckle type phenomenon called “cat’s eye” like the starry enstatite.
The bronzite variety, of a dark bronze color, is an iron and magnesium silicate which has a metallic luster, a refractive index and a higher density.
The variety called clinoenstatite or hypersthene, greenish-brown, iron-rich (up to 3.5 density, hardness up to 6, refractive index up to 1.74 while that of the enstatite does not exceed 1.68 ) has a strong reddish brown pleochroism.

sites
It is found in many countries, including France, at Moun Caou (Pyrénées Atlantiques), in Prades (Arriege), Burma, Brazil, Tanzania, Kenya, United States, Mexico, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Canada. The Bronzite variety is found in Mongolia at Tairat in the Hangai Mountains.
use in jewelry
Cut faceted, is a collection stone. There are that are cut cabochons to highlight a shimmer or a phenomenon of asterism.

Historical
healing properties
It would be a stone of wisdom, of balance, it would help improve relations and avoid conflicts. It would help to make the right decisions in good conscience. On the heart chakra it would have this calming effect, on the plexus chakra it would contribute to the regulation of liver and intestines.
